iTunes Single of the Week
Riptide
Vance Joy
Vance Joy is the alias of
Melbourne-raised singer/songwriter James Keogh, who scored an Australian
platinum plaque for his single “Riptide.” Included on the debut EP, god Loves You When You’re Dancing, this
acoustic guitar-driven indie pop tune leans in a folksy direction while Keogh
trills playful lyrics about getting swept up by a mysterious lady who is the
“closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you’ve ever seen.” The pure,
head-over-heels delight in Joy’s acrobatic vocal results in an infectious,
rousing sing-along.
